Operation of this power board is straight forward; simply plug your main appliance (television) into the “master socket”, and plug your other appliances (such as DVD player, amplifier, VCR etc) into the "slave sockets". Place the power board's infrared receiver near to the television. When power to the master appliance is turned off or on by remote control, the power board's infrared receiver picks up the remote control's infrared beam and the “slave” appliances are simultaneously turned off or on. When the appliances are off, there is absolutely no standby power being consumed

On this power board is 1 additional "normal" power socket that operates continuously just like on a regular power board, independent of the master and slave sockets. Appliances that you don't want turned off, such as cable TV boxes or other devices with timers, should be plugged into the normal socket
